About J-Chill
J-Chill was raised in the small town of Santa Maria, California, where he developed a strong interest in music at the age of ten. By the age of fifteen, he had been introduced to the world of hip-hop.
His musical influences include pioneering hip-hop artists such as A Lighter Shade of Brown, Kid Frost, A Tribe Called Quest, Heavy D, Run-DMC, KRS-One, LL Cool J, Kool Moe Dee, Big Daddy Kane, Ice-T, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Sir Mix-a-Lot, Eric B. & Rakim, EPMD, Public Enemy, and DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince.
J-Chill became one of the first rappers to emerge from the streets of his hometown. He is not only an MC but a complete entertainer. Throughout his career, he has continued to motivate artists and fans while influencing the local hip-hop scene through his music, fashion, stage presence, and approach to live performance.
J-Chill has built a substantial and enduring music career. Influenced by musical styles ranging from rap and reggae to numerous other genres, he has gained popularity over the years and developed a diverse fan base stretching from the United States to Europe and as far as Tanzania, Africa.
J-Chill’s music catalog includes tracks such as the underground classic “I Said It B-4,” along with “Have Tha Heart,” “Tyme 2 Groove,” “Simma Down,” and “Battle Ready.”
As a respected figure in the rap community, J-Chill has spent years building strong relationships throughout the music industry. He has performed, collaborated, and participated in booking events with notable artists such as Suga Free, DJ Quik, Ice-T, and DJ Evil E, just to name a few.
J-Chill has also worked with Tweed Cadillac of the Penthouse Players Clique, a music group founded and produced by Eazy-E and DJ Quik in 1992.
More recently, J-Chill collaborated with legendary Philadelphia and Delaware-based music producer and engineer Herb Middleton. He is affiliated with Team Fearless and is now an official member of Ice-T’s Rhyme Syndicate.
In addition to his work as a recording artist and performer, J-Chill is also a graphic designer involved in developing future creative and musical projects.
